When I was a child, my favorite sport to play and watch was, like many young
girls, gymnastics. Recently I had the opportunity to go to a Chinese national
competition, which was being held in our city. While there I met one of
the judges of the competition who also runs a small class for the children
who attend the international school. After meeting her the first time, I
began to meet with her weekly so that she could practice her English."
"This is an excellent service for the people of China, as the advantages
of learning English are great, but the opportunities to practice with
native speakers are very few. Jim has also been meeting with a graduate
student for two years now. These types of relationships also give many
opportunities to discuss important topics with them such as holidays and
their meanings, government and other topics that allow conversation about
the truths of GodÕs Word. Please continue to pray for those with
whom we meet, that they would raise questions and seek answers, not only
about how to pronounce "knife" or how to talk on the telephone,
but also about things that will affect their lives for eternity."
