your question here, please send us an e-mail.
Will I receive my monthly stipend
year round or only during the months that I teach?
Monthly stipends are given
out at the end of each month beginning with August of the first
year that you arrive and continue monthly until the last month that
you work with ISC.
Why are new teachers only given two
weeks vacation during the summer between their first and second
year of teaching with ISC?
Summers for new teachers are
spent learning Mandarin (the heart language of the Chinese), working
with Summer English Camps, working on classroom and/or housing
renovations, welcoming new staff, and being involved in school-sponsored
community outreach projects.
Are all curriculum materials needed
to teach my class provided by the school?
Yes, the schools provide all of
the curriculum materials that you will need to teach your class;
however, many teachers bring materials that will enhance the chosen
curriculum.
Do I need to have any teaching experience ?
Although we prefer our candidates to have at least two years of teaching experience under their professional belts, we will consider candidates who have successfully completed their student teaching experience.
What type of curriculum does ISC use?
We use a variety of American-based curricula, which is selected by the school administrators and educational board.
What type of training is provided, I have never been overseas before?
ISC partners with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to create an intensive two week training program designed to help you and your family prepare for your overseas experience. This orientation typically occurs at the end of June.
Can my children attend one of the ISC schools?
Absolutely. Your children are welcome in our schools and as an added benefit you will not be asked to pay any tuition for them.
